Tan Si En is a film & TV producer and the founder of Momo Film Co.
As a distinguished alumnus of ACE, Berlinale Talents, and Rotterdam Lab, they have produced several acclaimed films. Notably, Don’t Cry, Butterfly by Dương Diệu Linh won both the Grand Prix and the Most Innovative Film Award at Venice Critics’ Week in 2024. Dreaming & Dying by Nelson Yeo, which secured two prestigious Golden Leopards at the Locarno Film Festival in 2023. And Wet Season by Anthony Chen premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2019 and was later selected as Singapore’s official submission for the Academy Awards in 2021, earning 12 international awards, including the prestigious Golden Horse Awards.
Si En’s recent co-productions include A Useful Ghost (Cannes Critics Week 2025, Grand Prix), The Year of the Everlasting Storm (Cannes 2021), Arnold Is a Model Student by Sorayos Prapapan (Locarno 2022), Levitating (Sundance 2026) and Andragogy (Toronto 2023) by Wregas Bhanuteja, Some Nights I Feel Like Walking by Petersen Vargas (Tallinn Black Nights 2024), and This City Is A Battlefield by Mouly Surya (Rotterdam 2025).
Through Momo Film Co, they made significant deals, including a strategic partnership with Nathan Studio to produce a slate of projects. They are also collaborating with Studiocanal and Canal+ on Red Butterfly. In 2021, Beach House Pictures acquired stakes in Momo Film Co. to enhance its scripted content output and expand its reach across Southeast Asia. This move was followed by Fremantle’s acquisition of Beach House Pictures in 2024, integrating Momo into its global network while preserving Momo's core identity.
Currently, Si En is developing and producing a slate of award-winning projects, including Other People’s Dreams by Daniel Hui, The House On The Moon by Nelson Yeo, RIP ME LOL by Calleen Koh among others.
In addition to their production work, Si En champions Southeast Asian talent through initiatives like the Objectifs Short Film Incubator and the Momo Distribution Grant. Their contributions to the industry have been featured in major publications, including Screendaily, Variety, Tatler, and Channel News Asia. In 2020, they were named one of The Straits Times’ 30 Under 30 – The Arts. In 2021, they received the Youth Inspiration Award from the National Youth Council and Scape. In 2023, Si En was recognized by Tatler’s GenT as one of the Leaders of Tomorrow, and in 2024, they became the first film producer ever honored with Singapore’s Young Artist Award, the nation’s highest accolade for art practitioners aged 35 and under.
